Te Pae 30 Ap (to 5 May)

Justin and Prue hosted Michael O’Leary and David McGill who are having a joint book launch at Petticoat Junction on Sun May 14 from 4 to 5 pm (following Helen Heath’s poetry reading 3 to 4). Michael’s book puts together his 35 years of writing poetry and he read a few of his Paekakariki poems. David (who has written over 50 b00ks!) has published a ‘faction’ book, “The Plot to Kill Peter Fraser” which will bring back memories to those around in the 1940s or who have studied the history and be fun and full of information for younger readers.  We then celebrated with Rhonda Thompson an amazingly successful third year of the Art Show at St Peter’s the previous weekend.  And Prue reminded people that submissions for the KCDC Annual Plan close next day May 15 at 5 pm and lamented the high rates increases for Paekakariki. Justin had selected some music relevant to the interviewees! We had a great time.
