Te Pae 23-30 April: Peter Wilson, Riddles and Scouts

This coming week is special in Paekakariki for the extraordinary talent from across the arts performing at wee community hall, St Peters. On Thursday is a sold out show by pop legends The Chills, whose new album Silver Bullets shows Martin Phillips after 37 years still one of our preeminent songwriters, and Saturday night our premiere Motown band The Fades. But on Thursday morning we also have a performance by NZ’s most preeminent and most innovative theatremaker for children Peter Wilson, a new Paekakariki resident, with Papershaper. Then on Sunday afternoon poet Bill Manhire reads alongside violin from outstanding soloist Martin Riseley and music from Norm Meehan and Hannah Griffin – Tell Me My Name has been staged by renowned director Sara Brodie and is also a book just out with the images of Peter Peryer by VUP.
