Himiona Grace: A bit of relief in a confusing world
There may be some listeners, who have yet to tune into Himiona Grace’s Indiginz Session on Thurs 9pm & Fri 3pm. But not many.
One of the more popular and eclectic record shows heard at FM 88.2, Himiona presents an international range of music, with more than a suggestion of indigenous flavour that fits well in a confusing world.
Of Ngati Toa and Ngati Porou descent, Himiona played in a local reggae band, is a lover of movies, music, photography and – kai moana! He’s been with Paekakariki FM since the station opened. Himiona admits to being open with his feelings.
“I say what I think,” he says. “Sometimes it comes out as a personal political message about the system and how it is not working.” Amen to that.
