When Sophie Handford arrives at Paekakariki Radio Station, it is mostly music that’s on her mind. But not just any old music. Sophie plays the top 40 tunes of the month, personally selected by Sophie and her friends. The show Paekakariki Pop is heard Sat 5pm & Tues 4pm, exclusively on Paekakariki FM 88.2 and streaming on paekakariki.fm

The 19 year old has been working the console controls since the station opened, usually sharing the microphone with a friend or three. Her goal is to “get people moving to music.”
