Mayatiita Southerward with ‘DJ Pink’ – ‘A positive musical journey’
Mayatiita (his meditation name) hosts “Electrosphere”, Tuesday 9pm & Thursday 2pm. Describing the show as “a positive musical journey”, it features house music, world music, reggae and some chanting. The programme music has a spiritual base but is not religious – ‘uplifting’ is the word Mayatiita uses. His favourite artist is Boo Williams who plays electronic Chicago house music.
Mayatiita been a disk jockey at a number of NZ radio stations originally starting in the Bay of Plenty. He has a Te Horo horticulture business growing micro greens, supplying restaurants and shops in the region. Pastimes here in Paekakariki include surfing and karate.
