The volunteer army

On Te Pae this Sunday 6pm and 12noon daily on your dial and at www.paekakariki.org.nz…after a stormy week that was also National Volunteer Week, we honour the army of people who give their time for nothing in the village. From the volunteer fire-fighters who mop up on wild nights, to all the people who help in school, the wider community and internationally.  The Beach Road Deli’s Kelly and Rebecca are Neighbours of the Week for Local Food Week – make sure you listen up for their top kitchen tips!  Will Northcott has a round-up of recent sporting highlights and his niece and new baby-sitter on the block Isabella Stroes reads the little ones a bed-time story. There’s in invite to be a Friend of Queen Elizabeth Park in the Squawk of the Week, and Wayne Mason’s blasting away the winter blues!

Community Notices as always at 1pm/7pm.

We welcome your notices, thoughts, ideas and comments to [email protected]. Te Pae/The Perch is presented by Mark Amery and Kaia Hawkins and produced by Melanie Phipps with assistance from Esther Bullen and Rebecca Thomson.

Te Pae is brought to you with the support of Beach Road Deli.
