We’re in the midst of delivering a big pile of great fresh shows folks (more below) and this week on Te Pae (Sunday to Friday 9-14 February 12-2pm and 6-8pm) with your host Mark Amery we go on a field trip, electric fishing in Wainui Stream and a whole lot more. In the first hour there’s live music with Jerome and Elan Mills, Pete is back with the fishing report, we celebrate the life of Barry Williams, review Himiona Grace’s film Pa Boys and in a new semi regular feature open the fridge door for a reading from the Healthy Options free public bookstore on the corner of Tilley and Te Miti. Our issue of the week is freshwater native fish – its little known diversity and Wainui Stream as one of the best places in the region to see native fish. On a field trip we do some fish-stunning with Dr Mike Joy and are joined by local eel feeder Aaron Richardson. Community Notices are with Aliki, Squawk is with the new chair of Paekakariki Community Board, Jack McDonald and we end with spoken Word from poet Rob Hack.

Elsewhere on your local airwaves (streaming on your computer from www.paekakariki.org.nz) we’ve heard many beautiful shows already which replay until the end of the month. A feature on beautiful composer Arvo Part on Classical Futures, NZ 60s band The Pretty Things on Cecil and Wellington, lots of old time irreverence on Murray’s Miscellany, the first week at Kapiti College on the A n T show and an interview and feature with Daniel Beban of Orchestra of Spheres on Wellin Studio Sounds. And that’s just a dip in the ocean. Here ‘s the schedule. Happy listening.
