Te Pae 2 – 9 July 2017: Housing and Sustainability

This week on Te Pae on Paekakariki 88.2FM (12noon and 6pm daily), we are joined by a panel of three locals – Nicky Walker, Tina Pope and Mark Galbraith – to talk about the quest to make housing in our village more accessible and affordable. They’ll canvas what people are already doing to work towards this, and toss around a few ideas for more sustainable models to meet diverse housing needs. After community notices we talk to Vanessa Crowe local resident and Sustainable Communities Coordinator at Kapiti Coast District Council about the No.8 Wire Workshop series week 14-23 July on Kapiti Coast, which also features Paekakariki’s first Pecha Kucha evening on Friday 14 July, and later on we hear the latest songs from Paekakariki’s youngest freshest singer songwriters, recorded today at St Peters. Brought to you with the assistance of the Beach Road Deli. Your hosts Louise Thornley and Mark Amery.
