Pheasants on the radio! Te Pae 2-8 October 2016

47062 Common pheasant male facing-

Your community radio show Te Pae this week with hosts Sylvia Bagnall and Mark Amery is dedicated to your most misunderstood and underappreciated Paekakariki neighbour: the common pheasant (Phasianus colchicus) found in abundance in the brackeny dune country of Queen Elizabeth Park. We are joined by local bird expert Murray Williams to get to know them better, we share some cooking tips (not asking how you obtained your game), we have pheasant song and cheer and local actor Johnny Wraight reads an extract from that pheasant bible Roald Dahl’s Danny Champion of the World. We are also joined by Cas Carter for our Sqwark of the Week from the Board of Trustees of Kapiti College who will introduce plans for the Kapiti Performing Arts Centre and the upcoming Kapiti Art Show. All this on Te Pae with the assistance of the Beach Road Deli 12 noon to 6pm daily on 88.2FM and at www.paekakariki.fm in this first week of October 2016. Also we note it’s a live week here at Paekakariki FM through until Saturday night 8 October, that means new radio shows from your many neighbours.
