Recently there\u2019s been continued concern about the amount of crime in our village. So much so the community board provided a grant towards a volunteer community patrol visiting from Paraparaumu. There has also been continued discussion about the effectiveness of surveillance cameras, and other community initiatives. Is crime on the increase, or are we simply sharing more on social media? When in surveillance does care turn into control or a disrespect of our freedoms? What can you do about it? We\u2019re joined by John Stewart, Jason Dykes and Sam Buchanan. It\u2019s the beginning of Matariki festival and we look at activities here and in the region, and talk about our local kura\u2019s celebration this Thursday. Rachel is in to review a movie or two at Finns and Damien Ruth is our local poet in the spoken word segment.
