She came from Dunedin, she plays<br \/>\nrhythm guitar with the Paekakariki band \u2018The Travesties\u2019, her favourite artists and groups<br \/>\ninclude the singer, songwriter and poet, P.J. Harvey, the pioneering rock band \u2018Blondie\u2019 and<br \/>\ncool counterculture \u2018Velvet Underground\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Listeners can hear her show \u201cAlbumarama\u201d on Saturday at 4pm, and Monday at 11am.<br \/>\nNot just any old music, mind you, DJ Maxine selects her feature album, researches its history, and<br \/>\ntalks about the people, the places, the genre, (often a New Zealand group); and makes that<br \/>\nalbum come alive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving been a music lover virtually all my life\u201d, DJ Maxine says, \u201cmy album choice is very<br \/>\neclectic.\u201d Tune in: \u201cAlbumarama\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DJ Maxine: Listen, learn and love!
