Te Pae 9 Nov – 15 Nov: Blakewater Blues Trio, Pete with a fishing report, Paekakariki organic foods co-op, and Paekakariki history

This week on Te Pae we have the Blakewater Blue Trio in studio to set the Sunday mood. Gordon Chamley, Murray Kilpatrick and Sue Rose made up this blues-jazz trio.

Fisherman Pete McLaughlin is in to give us a fishing report after a recent dive off our shores.

Our Squawk of the Week is our very own Te Pae producer Louise Thornley and her friend Tina Pope in to chat about the organic fruit and vegetable co-op happening in our neighbourhood.

We have an  interview with two of our artsy neighbours, Paekakariki sculptors Alan Wehipeihana and Sebastian Jaunas.

And we finish on spoken word with part three of Michael O’Leary’s History of Paekakariki. Emily Regtien is in to read this final chapter.

Bonus!

Check out this mini documentary on Paekakariki artist Alan Wehipeihana here…

You can purchase Michael’s book on the History of Paekakariki at the fruit and vege shop in the village, $15.
