Te Pae 5 Oct – 11 Oct: poetry from some local kids, Rachel Tobin on mindfulness, and folk music from Nigel Parry

This week on Te Pae we’re kicking things off with Nigel Parry live in studio for some folk tunes. Our Squawk of the week is Rachel Tobin in to chat about mindfulness and her upcoming children’s meditation course. We’ll finish up with a live recording of Paekakariki School children reading their poetry at the Mahara Gallery a few weeks back, for the opening of the children’s exhibition Wai Ora ki Tonga/Waterlife to the South.

We also have a brand new schedule for the station thanks to the design talents of Mick Finn. Share it around!

As always Te Pae will be airing live on Sunday 6-8pm and repeated daily throughout the week 12-2pm and 6-8pm.

Catch us on 88.2fm or streaming on paekakariki.org.nz

Te Pae 28 Sept – 4 Oct: Paekakariki’s Got Talent Winners, Mahara Gallery’s Janet Bayly, the Paekakariki Volunteer Fire Brigade, and a spot of storytelling for the school holidays

This week on Te Pae 88.2FM with host Mark Amery: the school holidays have kicked off and to keep the kids entertained we have the winners of Paekakariki’s got talent, Lily and Rosie, coming in for a tune. Director of Mahara Gallery Janet Bayly is in to have a chat about Paekakariki’s strong connection to the gallery, and their current exhibition of artwork and poems by children from Paekakariki, Paraparaumu, Kapiti & St Patricks Schools (and we’ll also feature a recording of some of this wonderful poetry). The Paekakariki Volunteer Fire Brigade’s Aaron Richardson, Judith Stanley, and Rueben Drew come in for a chat about the brigade’s recent activity, colourful history, and their hunt for new members. And we’ll be finishing up with a bedtime story from one of our local children’s authors. We were sad to find that the first 25 minutes of Te Pae didn’t go to air last week due to technical difficulties. But never fear, we’re back on board this week with our technical issues remedied. Te Pae records live on Sundays (6-8pm) and airs daily throughout the week at 12-2pm and 6-8pm on 88.2FM. Also streaming at paekakariki.org.nz
