Welcome Spring. Its always rather exciting – we are live almost all this week Sunday 1 to Saturday 7 September in the evening as your neighbourhood DJs lay down their new shows.

Meanwhile as a way of helping our community, we have free ‘Ka Pai Te Pae pie dishes’ (and instructions) available at this months Market, St Peter’s Hall, 7th September. Come and pick up a dish and transform your radio reception.

Coming up on Te Pae this week (1pm and 6pm daily), is a five minute  how to transform your reception using the tried and true pie dish method. Transmission of 88.2FM can be patchy in places but we, here at 88.2FM have the answer. Also on Te Pae we welcome for a set the street party sounds of The Shakedown ahead of their St Peters gig on Saturday, and our issues is our local flora – what’s threatening it and what we can do about it? with Darryl Kee, Biosecurity Officer (Plants), Greater Wellington Regional Council, Joe Clarkson, Nga Uruora  and Hannah Zwartz, local gardener and KCDC’s Green Gardener.

At 1pm and 7pm tune in for Community Notices with Emily Duizend (welcome Emily to the team), our Squawk of the week is from Paekakariki Playcentre with Vanessa Crowe and our Neighbour of the Week interview with Tilly Lloyd, long term beach dweller and  co-owner of arguably the best bookshop in the country ‘Unity Books’. Finally in our spoken Word is Damian Ruth, poet from te Miti Street.

Thanks to the Te Pae Production Team of: Rebecca Thomson, Meryl Richards, Louise Thornley, Mark Coote, Emily Duizend, Alex Kebble and the irreplaceable Esther Bullen. Te Pae is hosted by Mark Amery and Kaia Hawkins (on alternate weeks), and brought to you withe the support of the Beach Road Deli. We broadcast and record live Sunday nights.
